White Spot Treatment

Icon is a modern technique that can be used to improve the appearance of white (and brown) spots which can be caused by early caries, fluorosis or trauma. The treatment improves the appearance of the teeth without the need for any drilling, is quick and pain free.
How ICON works (multiple teeth can be treated at a time):
- Initial assessment with the dentist to diagnose the cause of the white spots, and ensure that ICON treatment is suitable. *
- The affected tooth is gently cleaned with a special gel, which prepares the white lesions
- A resin is placed onto the tooth and infiltrates the white spot affected areas
- The resin is then cured with a special light, after which the tooth is polished
- The treated areas blend in with the rest of the tooth, giving the teeth a natural consistent appearance
* for best results, the treatment can be provided alongside tooth whitening which decreases the size of the lesion prior to ICON treatment and maximises the effectiveness of the ICON treatment.
